From October 3, 2026, to February 14, 2027, the LaM is presenting a major exhibition dedicated to anonymous, self-taught, or “art brut” female artists. Bringing together more than 300 works by 70 artists, spanning from the second half of the 19th century to the present day, the exhibition *Singulières* reveals a constellation of creative trajectories and gestures that emerged on the margins of dominant narratives.
Far from being an exhaustive survey or a mere overview of iconic figures, the exhibition aims to present an alternative history: that of women who have long remained in the shadows. Through resistance, rebellion, and daydreams, they invent their own languages, bringing to life unique inner worlds that allow them to inhabit the world in a different way.
