Over 300 works by 70 international female artists are taking over the LaM for an extraordinary exhibition.

Singulières showcases artists who have long remained in the shadows: anonymous creators, self-taught artists, those categorised as art brut or those who defy all categorisation. Works imbued with life, exuberant forms, intimate visions and acts of rebellion tell stories of journeys in which creation becomes a space for emancipation and transformation.

Drawing on the exceptional L’Aracine collection and numerous loans, the exhibition offers a sensitive exploration that questions the place of women in art history, whilst revealing works of rare visual power.
